Heron Skill Systems is a Canadian company subject to British Columbia’s Personal Information. Protection Act (“PIPA”), which sets out rules for how private bodies collect, use and disclose personal information. As a Canadian company, Heron Skill Systems takes a consent based approach to processing personal information. Heron Skill Systems delivers Services to and acts on behalf of our customers, some of which are data controllers in the EU and UK. Heron Skill Systems uses administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information in compliance with legal requirements and aligned with industry best practice.
We review and update our security policies and controls as technology changes to ensure ongoing security of personal information. We have implemented procedures designed to limit the access to personal information to only staff who need it to perform their duties and to carry out the stated purposes. We use contracts to ensure that third parties acting on our behalf also maintain reasonable and appropriate safeguards. However, no internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free, and no security system is impenetrable. We cannot fully guarantee the confidentiality of any information that you share while using the Services.
Heron Skill Systems collects information from website visitors automatically. This includes the URL of the site you came from, your browser, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, date/time of access, data transferred, pages visited, amount of time on the websites, transactions conducted, and other “clickstream” data. This information is used to assist us in our marketing efforts, help diagnose technical problems, and to improve our websites.
Heron Skill Systems uses functional cookies on our website to deliver the desired functionality and user experience and analytics cookies to collect and analyze aggregate visitor behaviour. Heron Skill Systems collects personal information related to employment applications and personal information required to manage employment relationships. Please contact our Privacy Officer for more information about the management of applicant and employee personal information.
Heron Skill Systems will post any changes to this Privacy Notice and will provide a more prominent notice for significant changes (including email notification for certain changes). We’ll also keep prior versions of this Privacy Notice in an archive for review.
